A+ certifies the knowledge and technical competency of entry-level computer service technicians. A+ Certification is a non-vendor, non-product specific certification program. It provides an industry-recognized and valuable credential that open doors with prospective employers or lead to job advancement opportunities.

Audience: The course is suited for computer users looking to upgrade their skills in order to successfully perform as an entry-level computer service technician.

Prerequisites: No pre-existing knowledge is required.

Skills: A+ Certification training will help you troubleshoot, install programs, use DOS, Windows 3.11, Windows 9x, Windows 2000 / 2003, and their applications, as well as master skills in formal problem solving. You will also gain the benefit of hardware knowledge such as CPUs, memory, storage media, modems, network interface cards and peripherals.

Requirements: Two written exams - Core Hardware (220-201) and OS Technologies (220-202) - are required. The Core Hardware exam tests the student's knowledge of software interrupts, peripheral installation issues, electromagnetic discharge, and other basic hardware skills. The DOS/Windows exam covers such topics as OS installation, the boot process, troubleshooting, and the basics of PC networking.
